OK, now the fun stuff. What turned me on at the theater in 2023? Well, mostly the fact that movie theaters were back in 2023. There’s your real winner. But I also saw a few films. And few more films. And a few after that. And now it is time to declare the best among them.

Everybody everywhere is playing with the multiverse these days, but animated Spider-Man is still the best at it.
Raunchy comedy: Dicks: The Musical, Strays, Joy Ride
I swear my new measure for how funny a film is will be how long it takes the old couple to leave the theater. In my theaters, each of these laugh riots had a seventy-something couple give up early once they saw what
was happening. To me, it only made the films funnier.
Is there a better selling point than: “Nicolas Cage is Count Dracula?” Not in 2023, there wasn’t.
